Over the years, you and your colleagues working as healthcare support staff (HCAs, HCSWs, MSWs, CSWs, etc.) have probably seen your roles evolve and expand to take on more responsibilities. But often this increase in responsibility has not come with an increase in pay or recognition. In fact, many healthcare support staff on Band 2 pay are performing clinical duties and patient observations which fall under Band 3 of the NHS Agenda for Change pay scales. Essentially, you're being underpaid!
Ordinary UNISON members working as healthcare support staff are campaigning in your workplace to put things right - to win re-banding and back pay for the Band 3 work you've already done.
